ENGLISH VERSION   I am a Vancouver-based business journalist. Before filing reports out of North America for leading German and Asian publications I was posted to China by Germany´s leading financial daily HANDELSBLATT from 1999 to 2004 and to Southeast Asia for the nationwide broadcasting network ARD during the financial crisis. I started my career in Munich, where - in the late 1980s - I was an economics reporter for the local radio station BAYERISCHER RUNDFUNK. I also had an assignment as Frankfurt financial reporter for ARD in the mid-1990s. Currently, I am observing major economic developments in North America, Asia´s rising global footprint and Canada´s involvement in the commodities rally. My coverage extends to major manufacturing sectors in North America, as well as to the real estate sectors in the U.S. and Canada. In the 1980s, I studied economics and political science in Munich before heading to Washington, D.C., to work as an intern in Dick Cheney´s congressional office. I was lucky enough to witness from close range some of the major events of our time: The fall of the Berlin Wall, the Asian financial crisis and China´s accession to the World Trade Organization in late 2001.         GERMAN VERSION   Ich berichte seit Ende 2004 als freier Journalist aus Vancouver, meist für führende deutsche Tages- und Wochenzeitungen sowie für angesehene Branchenmagazine wie den IMMOBILIEN MANAGER. Zuvor war ich sechs Jahre lang für das HANDELSBLATT in China und beobachtete von Kuala Lumpur aus zwei Jahre lang die asiatische Finanzkrise. Vor dem Umzug nach Asien war ich Frankfurter Finanzkorrespondent der ARD. Von Vancouver aus beobachte ich wichtige wirtschaftliche Entwicklungen in Nordamerika, die beginnende globale Expansion Asiens, Kanadas Ritt auf dem Rohstoffboom sowie einige gewerbliche Industrien in Nordamerika, aber auch die Immobilienmärkte in Kanada und den USA. In den 80er Jahren habe ich in München Volkswirtschaft und Politik studiert und 1987 als Praktikant im Abgeordnetenbüro von Dick Cheney in Washington gearbeitet. Als Journalist habe ich einige der größten Umwälzungen unserer Zeit miterlebt: Den Fall der Mauer, die asiatische Finanzkrise, Chinas Beitritt zur WTO und die Umwälzungen im Sog der Subprime- und Kreditkrise.
